As we emphasized, competition for housing is tough. If it is six weeks before the beginning of the semester and you find yourself without any confirmation regarding your housing reservations, arrange to leave the Philippines at least two weeks before the first day of classes to allow you enough time to look for a place to live. (Allow more time if you plan on living in New York City or Tokyo.) Most universities’ housing/ accommodation offices are equipped to help students find off-campus apartments. Start there.
